When removing dirt for the new cut on the figure 8 Rory uncovered what looks to be a large old drainage tunnel. It looks a lot like a old mine shaft so we started calling Rorys gold mine. The hole go down several feet then runs off at angle towards the station. For safety we needed to put a cover over it. Howie had brought out a old trapdoor to the club a few years ago for a display. The old trapdoor was just the right size to cover the hole. We then built a frame to fit it using something old looks better than if we had build one out of new wood. |
