Later on I talked to Gene Allen and asked about the numbers on the locos and he said he made a lot of front number plates with # 613 but when he built his latest loco he had run out of the number plates so he cast up some with number 614. He said there should be a few other 613 and 614 numbered locos out there. So the number #613 on the club loco has nothing behind it. It is just a part that was put on the loco,

Sounds like we should get a number 21 or 22 plate. Something that the Yosemite Valley would have actually used.

I like his sanders, wonder if he sells the parts for them. We could really use a working sander on the American.

Yes a new number is in the work as I think it would look better. I didn't want to change the number when we got her running as I thought it was a number the builder had put on for some reason. I think we all now know that is not the case.
