The clubs Allan American locomotive had a throttle failure prior to being brought out for the Saturday public run. Apparently the throttle valve failed in the open position due to the sheering of a cotter pin in the throttle body.
The locomotive was put on the rack, cooled down and the steam dome was removed. Shown here the locomotive is tilted back to allow a wandering tubing fitting to roll back into place. |
