Today we had beautiful weather so installing the switch went smoothly. The switch still needs a little adjusting and the controller installed. So There is a two part plan for the use of this turnout. First we will probably add a switch to the track on the left and install a connecting track between the two switch’s. This will give us a way two bypass the outer loop track that runs tough the tunnel, past the club house, and over the trestle. This will help on runday’s as trains can take this cut off and get back to the station with there passengers if there’s a problem that blacks that end of the railroad. It gives us options and will take the pressure off if major maintenance is needed on that end of the railroad. Part two would be to install a passing siding from this point to the tunnel. The yard switch would be moved to that siding. That would make it less complicate to do locomotive runarounds when setting up or putting away trains. |

And we can get a train up to the station much faster when we get out of the yard. |
