Fortunately I unknowingly had a trade high school friend that is close friends with the owners of the Mount Washington cog railway. He saw on Facebook that I was an another tourist railroad in the area and asked if I was interested he could arranged a shop tour for me at the cog railway. I checked the weather for the next day and it was ok the next afternoon so I made arrangements to stay overnight in the area. I had a good time climbing the mountain and seeing everything behind the scenes at the cog railway. The shop tour was great, I had fun comparing notes on train repair, machine shop stuff, and race cars with the shop crew. There train are larger but they face the same issues as we do on our smaller trains. I’m thinking the Whyte Designation for this locomotive is a 0-2-2-0 |
