Comments: This 1.5 scale 0-4-0 logging locomotive was built by Dain Lones a past SCLS member. It was transferred to SCLS from the city of Lomita. As you can see it’s a unique design. Older members remember Dain as retired past naval officer and was good friends with Mrs Lewis of little engines when SCLS home truck was at the facility in Lomita, Ca. Looking the locomotive over we can see it a has a little engines one cylinder engine with slip eccentrics, that has chain drive to both axles, it has a scotch boiler, and has two kerosene jet burners similar to a Coleman stove set up. Older members remember Dain running it at the Lomita track. This should be a fun experience to see if we can get it to run at some point. At this point is stiff from sitting and derails very easily.
