Very rare footage of the Leader Class 0-6-6-0T under construction at Brighton Works in 1948. Most of the clip shows components under test in the works. At 0:37 the chain drive to the bogies is shown. At 1:56 the oscillating mechanism for the sleeve valves is shown, also under static test.

The Southern California Live Steamers reached a new milestone in operations on August 15, 2009. The 300,000th passenger was carried on our miniature railroad. Tabitha Gordon age 5 a visitor from Morro Bay, CA was visiting with her parents and was the lucky 300,000 th rider since the SCLS has been giving rides at Wilson Park. Tabitha was given a certificate as well as a gift engineer cap. Her smile says it all.
