We did it! we gave our 300,000th train ride on Saturday August 15th at 12:20 P.M. The lucky passenger was 5 year old Tabitha Gordon from Morro Bay, CA. Torrance City Cable helped us capture the moment. The last time we marked a mile-stone like this was our 100,000th rider in November 1997, 10 years from the beginning of "Regular" run days. The 200,000th rider was on July 4th 2005, only 8 years from the first 100,000. The last 100,000 really snuck up on us, in just 4 years. The "Official" monthly rider count will now be posted each month. We are continuing to look for ways to raise funds to purchase new riding cars and make improvements to the train park. Please help us to continue to make improvements or help us purchase new riding cars, by checking out all our donation options on this web site or place a donation in our donation box during any of our run days. I would like to thank all of our public riders for their continued support. The kind words of thanks and encouragement are priceless to the members who give of their time and talents to keep the trains running safety. Without you we could not provide such a high level of service to the community. I invite all club members who wants to help out around the track to do so. If you are not sure what needs to be done, someone is at the track every Saturday around 10 or 11:00.A.M. Please volunteer for one or more of our working committees, by writing your name on the list posted on the bulletin board. There are always plenty of weeds. We had a great "work day" Saturday 7/25/09, fun was had by all and a much needed coat of paint was spread around. We always welcome new members to our team. To find out how to become a member or just to learn more about our organization, please contact club members at the information tent, on run days, or come to one of our meetings which are held on the 3rd Saturday of each month at 10:30 A.M.
