We have really picked up steam... Completing the "Smithville Station", the "Downing Diamond of Death, the Boy Scout flag pole, bridge clean-up/landscaping, and a number of other over-due projects, 2013 has, by far, has been the most amazing year ever. I am sure we have spent more money too. It will require a continued effort of all members to maintain what has been built and achieved. To just maintain what we have now will be no small task. There is still more to do to, just keep the property "clean". In the past, "clean" meant, cleaner than it was 20 years ago... We are at the point where we present our "best" to the public. Yes, we will have construction projects and perhaps piles of leaves and clippings about, but what I am talking about is that attention to detail. Getting rid of years of debris (some call donations) that just does not belong in a railroad or on the property. We have begun the removal process but there is a lot of work to be done. One of the best ways to help is to simply not "DONATE" any of your deebris (A.K.A. junk). I find it very nice, seeing railroad artifacts and all the other "antiques" that garnish our track and i am sure the public does too. The next phase in our "Garnish" is going to be the full-size signals display... Please if you want/can help with time or donations, we could sure use it. Thank you all for all of your hard work and donation$!!! Timothy Brothers |
