Summer is! The 4th of July was a huge success. We ran on Saturday July 4th and on Sunday July 5th giving 3,904 public rides. Thank you to our guest and everyone who helped plan and prepare for one of the best Independence Day celebrations. We are continuing to look for ways to raise funds to purchase new riding cars and make improvements to the train park. Please help us to continue to make improvements or help us purchase new riding cars, by checking out all our donation options on this web site or place a donation in our donation box during any of our run days. Thanks to the Torrance Historical Society, we all had a great time at the "Rock Around the Block" celebration and car show show, Thursday July 16th. We spoke to a lot of nice people "Rocked" to ‘50's music and ate "In-N-Out" burgers milk shakes and a lot of candy. Thaks to all who came out to help. I would like to thank all of our public riders for their continued support. The kind words of thanks and encouragement are priceless to the members who give of their time and talents to keep the trains running safely. Without you we could not provide such a high level of service to the community. Thanks to everyone who came out to help Saturday July 25th. Wow! We had a great "work day", fresh paint helps the place shine and the food and friends makes it all worth it. I invite all club members who wants to help out around the track to do so. If you are not sure what needs to be done, someone is at the track every Saturday around 10 or 11:00.A.M. Please volunteer for one or more of our working committees, by writing your name on the list posted on the bulletin board. There are always plenty of weeds. We always welcome new members to our team. On the day of your party contact us at the information tent and arrange a time for your party to ride on a special train. Donations are appreciated. (Please call (310) 618-5982 to schedule Park Pick-nick space with the Torrance Community Services Parks coordinator.
