As of April 2021, we are still under state restrictions and not giving public train rides. I know we are all looking forward to the day public rides resume. When train rides resume, the times will be the first Sunday 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM and on the third Saturday 12:00 PM to 3:00PM. On April 17, 2021, following state guidelines we had our first members meeting in over a year. It was a nice day for an outside meeting and a small group of members attended. Unless circumstances beyond control happens, SCLS will now be resuming the monthly members meeting on the third Saturday of each month at 10:30 AM. If you are interested in becoming a member or volunteering to help at the club, please show up on any Tuesday after 10:00 AM. Also there is often members at the club on most Saturdays so if you are in the area, stop in and introduce yourself. The public train ride entrance is at the parking lot 2290 Washington Avenue. The members' entrance gate is on Washington Avenue next to the full-size railroad crossing. Please take some time and view the photo gallery. You will see the group has been keeping very active with many interesting projects. SCLS is similar to most civic clubs or volunteer groups as the members' interests vary, but in our case we all like trains and the many aspects of railroading. As President of our small train-loving group, I look forward to sharing this unique group's benefits with others. |
